Scivation Xtend Hydrasport review of benefits
Electrolytes (salts) are lost with sweat, in particular when training. Your body tries to cool down, generates sweat and brings electrolytes out with it. Sweating depends from one person to another, the effort and overall health, but everybody sweat at some point. To make it simple: Water + Salts = Hydration. And that my friend, is the recipe for hydration. The Sodium, Potassium and Magnesium present in this intra-workout / post workout are there to help you get hydrated.
BCAA’s In this are there also present. BCAA’s are amino acids already broken down and on of those is Leucine, which trigger the protein synthesis.
The manufacturer recommends up to 2 scoops, one during and/or one after training. Each scoop contains the following:
- BCAA’S 2:1:1 ratio total of 7000mg
- L-Leucine 3500mg
- L-Isoleucine 1750mg
- L-Valine 1750mg
- Sodium 225mg
- Magnesium 10mg
- Potassium 1750mg
- Coconut Water Powder 250mg. Contains electrolytes like potassium
- Beatine 500mg. I think it’s there to increase performances also, but I didn’t find a conclusive study. You can have more information here.
One scoop for 300 to 420ml of water. I’ve mixed it once in a full 500ml bottle and the taste was totally fine. There was a bit of foaming when shaken hard but nothing to alter the taste. It’s quite common with powder supplements.
What about the taste?
I have tasted blue raspberry and was happy with it. It was refreshing. There is also a Strawberry/kiwi flavor.
Scivation Xtend Hydrasport review of the effects
The effects of hydration seems to be there. I’ve never had a cramp or headache, not that It happened often before, but it’s usually a sign of dehydration. Otherwise than that, the BCAA’s are probably helping speed up the protein synthesis but I’m taking other supplements post-workout I can’t really tell if it makes a difference.
Note also that there is a lot of studies behind hydration and again, it’s as simple as water and salts.

I’m your supplement guinea pig! I’ve been working out from 1999 to 2004 until I got involved into a motorcycle accident. Even if I have a certification in fitness, I prefer to consider myself a self learner. I’ve started working out about 10 years ago but the leg that took the hit in 2004 left me in a lot of pain and I kept quitting and coming back, with you guested it, poor results. I then discovered supplements, started small training in September 2019 after studying weight lifting and nutrition. I’ve reached the 1000lb club in 2020 and haven’t stop since. There is a lot of supplements on the market, some good, some bad, and some almost essential! My goal is to give you unbiased information, especially on supplements, their impacts on muscle building and share my experiences with you. More info about me here : My Stats So Far
